Lisa Furtado — Interior Designer

San Francisco Bay Area-based Lisa Furtado describes her design style as traditionally rooted with a modern edge. She layers pieces with historical reference alongside modern, unexpected elements to create beautifully curated spaces that are refined and classic, but have a bit of tension.

This project was one of Lisa’s favorites. “Not only was the architecture a beautiful foundation for designing the space, but my clients were incredibly trusting of the vision I had.”

Lisa believes that designing the backdrop to her clients lives at home is an honor and a privilege. She gets to know clients on a deeper level than just what design styles they gravitate to. She maintains that it is important to learn how families live, how they entertain, where they travel, and what they do for fun. These are indicators of a client’s point of view that will drive the direction of the design to create a home that both tells the story of the family and serves to support them.
