HOT Designer Launches IGTV Art Talks Series— A Must See

I joined Juan Carlos Arcila-Duque, one of our fabulous interior designers from the title Some Like It HOT, for his Instagram Live series, Art Talks, last month. Juan Carlos launched Art Talks soon after the coronavirus became a global pandemic to deepen our connection to art — to ensure the talent of artists and the beauty of their art and design do not go unnoticed in our ever-changing world. The series and its efforts are a part of the Art Design Project — of which Juan is the founder and curator. 

The Art Design Project passionately promotes the “intersection of art and design by representing the works of emerging and established artists and photographers.” The Project exhibits art from around the world online and in collaboration with various galleries. To compliment each exhibition, The Art Design Project organizes cultural activities, much like the one I am honored to have participated in. 

Juan Carlos has interviewed artists and photographers, designers and publishers, and so many other creatives through his Art Talks series. When he reached out to me to participate in an episode of his IGTV series, I was thrilled (albeit a little nervous and unfamiliar with Instagram Live ;)). It was a joy to share the virtual space with Juan Carlos; to reflect on the significance of beauty and of art in my life and in my work at benton buckley books. We spent the hour discussing many of our titles, including Love Is Love, I Do…, Equal & Empowered, our upcoming Florida architectural book, New View, and, of course, Some Like It HOT, as well as the fantastic author-contributors who belong to them; the talent that fills their pages. The journey to discover beauty has always been an exciting and meaningful one for me...like that of a gallerist, I always say. The journey is all the more incredible when I am joined by a fellow lover and creator of beauty, art, and design, like Juan Carlos Arcila-Duque. Thank you for your passion, Juan.
